Situated in a quiet semi-residential location, yet just a few minutes walk from all that Sandown has to offer. Built as an Admiral's residence in 1870 and later becoming the Station Master's house for Sandown & Shanklin, the lodge has retained many of its original features. We are a 4 Star accredited Accommodation providing our guests with a lovely place to stay. Whether you are looking for a good old fashioned family beach type holiday or a base for exploring the rest of the island, Bertram Lodge has a warm & friendly atmosphere & with the large selection of good Home cooked food we invite you to relax & enjoy your well earned holiday with us. This establishment is committed to catering for the needs of walkers and cyclists and has been approved by VisitBritain. Along the seafront to the North of the town, you will find a Dinosaur Museum, Brown's pitch 'n' putt golf course, bowling greens, and a crazy golf course. Also, this part of Sandown is home to the Isle of Wight Tiger and Big Cat Sanctuary, where they specialize in the breeding and care of some of the planet's most severely threatened creatures. This is located in Granite Fort, which was in operation during the war to protect the island's coastline. No pets permitted on the premises. No Takeaway Food allowed on the premises. All Children are Welcome. (Families and Couples only), single sex parties will be refused entry and deposit will not be refunded." Un-restricted on street parking.
