Just 10 minutes' walk from the city centre halfway between the railway station and York Racecourse Barrington House has been offering comfortable accommodation at great-value rates for over 25 years.During its 25-year history as a guest house Barrington House has established a good reputation for the quality of its service and the value for money it offers. Situated in a quiet cul-de-sac just off the main road this Edwardian townhouse was originally built around 1906

Today the house still retains many original features from that period.All of the en suite rooms are well equipped with TVs and teacoffee making facilities with complimentary biscuits and bottled water.There are many restaurants bars and shops nearby and all the attractions and amenities of York's city centre are within easy walking distance

Breakfast is included in the price and guests can choose a full cooked English breakfast or a continental-style breakfast featuring various cereals yoghurt grapefruit fruit juice and fresh fruit.

Directions:
From the North. Take the A1 onto the A59 on the outskirts of the city you will crossover the A1237. Continue to follow the A59 into the city until you come up a hill to an iron railway bridge. Turn right immediately after the bridge onto Dalton Terrace. At the traffic lights turn left and move to the far right-hand lane at the next set of traffic lights turn right on to Scarcroft Road. Take the second right-hand turn into Nunthorpe Avenue and the Barrington is on the left half way down. From the South. Come into York on the A64 York-Leeds road. On the outskirts of the city take the A1036 sign posted York West. Follow the signs for city centre.After a mile you will pass the racecourse which will be on your right. There is a slight hill with traffic lights at the top go through the lights and at the next set of traffic lights turn right on to Scarcroft Road. Take the second right-hand turn into Nunthorpe Avenue and the Barrington is on the left half way down. From the Railway Station. Turn right and follow the footpath round the city wall until you come to the cross roads. Turn right at the junction onto Blosson Street. After approx 300 metres you will pass an Odeon Cinema just beyond here the road changes name to The Mount. After 200 metres turn left into Scarcroft Road. Take the second right-hand turn into Nunthorpe Avenue and the Barrington is on the left half way down.
