The Farthings is a charming Victorian guest house built in 1895, and situated in a quiet cul-de-sac on the south side of the city. The historic city walls are only 5 minutes walk away, and all York's major attractions and theatres can be easily reached on foot. Each room has been individually decorated and furnished to match its character

Some rooms have en-suite shower and toilet and some are suitable for small families. All rooms are centrally heated with tea & coffee making facilities, satellite colour TV and clock radios. All rooms are tastefully furnished, providing comfort and cleanliness

The delicious quality breakfast is served in the ground floor dining room and caters for all tastes including full English, continental and vegetarian options. There is free on street parking outside with a permit.

Directions:
From North|Road|0.75|Approaching via A59, as you approach York you will cross over a steel bridge. Take your immediate right turn, which is signposted York racecourse onto Dalton Terrace. At the traffic lights turn left onto The Mount. Once you are on The Mount, filter into the right hand lane, and turn right at traffic lights into Scarcroft Road. We are the second turning on the right, after the park. Nunthorpe Avenue. Distance shown above is from the Steel Bridge. The South|Road|3|Approaching via the A64, take the second slip road for York west A1036. Follow the directions for York along Tadcaster Road. After passing the racecourse on your right, proceed up a small hill to a set of traffic lights. Go through these traffic lights and onto the next. You will need to be in the right hand filter lane, and turn right at these lights, into Scarcroft Road. Proceed down Scarcroft Road, and we are the second turning on the right. Nunthorpe Avenue. Distance above is from slip road. Bus Station|Bus|0.75|By Foot. Same directions as train/coach. Coach Station|Coach|0.75|By Foot. Same directions as by train. Station|Train|0.75|By foot. On leaving the station turn right and proceed along Queen Street to the traffic lights. Turn right onto Blossom Street, and continue forward until you come to Sainsburys mini supermarket. Cross over the road at the pedestrian crossing and turn right. Take your third left at the traffic lights onto Scarcroft Road. Continue down Scarcroft Road, passing a park on your left, and you will find Nunthorpe Avenue the next right turn after the park. We are situated at the bottom on the left.
