It is just eight miles to the market town of Pickering where visitors can ride the traditional steam train. Flamingoland Theme Park is just five miles away. Other attractions close by are Kirkham Abbey; Castle Howard and Eden Camp. Ganton Golf Club; an excellent golf course is seven miles way. Slightly further a field but all accessible within 30 minutes are the historic cities of York; Goatland; Whitby and Scarborough.
