The Buck Inn, Ripon

Accommodation Description:
The Buck Inn overlooks the green in the picturesque village of Thornton Watlass. The village lies at the entrance of Wensleydale, midway between Bedale and Masham, the gateway to the stunning Yorkshire Dales National Park.

The Buck Inn is an ideal country retreat for those seeking to get away from the busy pace of modern life. Whether you are looking for a romantic break, a family holiday or to indulge in outdoor pursuits, The Buck Inn can cater for all. If places of outstanding natural beauty are your idea of heaven, then a day or two scouring the dales with their medieval dry-stone walls and barns will be right up your street

By contrast, the moorland above is as wild and open as it comes. There are several spectacular waterfalls, from the very popular and well known Aysgarth Falls and Hardraw Force to the more secluded but no less beautiful waterfall at West Burton. On clear days a drive to the top of Wensleydale, Wharfedale, Coverdale or Swaledale will reward you with some truly breathtaking views Brimham Rocks are quite amazing

The Buck Inn has teamed up with local anglers to acquire exclusive access to a beautiful mile and a half stretch the River Ure which is a short drive from The Buck Inn. We will happily arrange day passes for guests to enjoy a day's Fly Fishing on the river, which is kept well-stocked. Having spent a long day taking in the local attractions, you can unwind in the small, cosy bar by our open fire

Our bar offers an extensive wine list to suit all tastes, a selection of well-kept real ales including the locally brewed "Black Sheep" and a range of guest options from independent brewers.
