Built in the 18th century the hotel has been extended and modernised but still reatins many of its original features. The restaurant with views over the lawns and woodland offers a wide range of fine dining, or alternatively why not enjoy a bar meal in our lounge bar or conservatory. Guests have free use of the health club with steam room, sauna, pool and gymnasium and we also have a beauty salon offering a full range of treatments

Barnsley makes an excellent base for exploring the beautiful Pennine hill country and many locations used for filming Emmerdale and Last of the Summer Wine. Modern centres such as Leeds, Bradford and Sheffield are a short drive away and offer excellent shopping as well as many other attractions. The hotel is now entirely Non-Smoking, this also includes all bedrooms

From Jct 36 of the M1 (travelling North) From the motorway pick up the signs for A61 Barnsley. Keep to the left until you reach small roundabout. Take 1st exit. Keep on this road until you pass the Button Mill Inn. Take 1st right after this. Carry on until reach large roundabout. Take 3rd exit signed A635 Doncaster. Travelling on dual carriageway the Hotel is situated approx half mile on right.From Jct 37 of the M1 (travelling South) From motorway pick up signs A635 Doncaster. Continue on this road until you reach the large roundabout. Take 2nd exit. Travelling on dual carriageway the Hotel is situated approx half mile on right.From Jct 37 of A1. Pick up signs A635 Barnsley. Remain on this road passing the villages of Marr and Hickleton. At the 1st rounabout take 2nd exit. At the 2nd roundabout take 3rd exit. At 3rd roundabout take 2nd exit. Follow this road throught the village of Darfield. The Hotel is situated on your left immediately after the crematorium.
