From: £58.00 This two star, family owned city centre hotel comprises a collection of six listed buildings around a courtyard setting. The oldest building (pictured) dates from 1659. Situated on Skeldergate, the ancient Roman waterfront that now leads from the city walls across the river to the historic city The convenient location, combined with the hotels scenic setting is ideal for exploring York and the surrounding area. The railway station and all major attractions are within easy walking distance. The University and other business areas are also easily accessible from the hotel A full range of facilities include guest parking, a restaurant serving English cooking, a bar and lounge area and a health and fitness centre with counter current fitness pool (booking required), sauna and cv equipment (limited availability to children under 16 years old). Guest accommodation is located within five of the buildings, which have been restored to provide 54 en suite bedrooms, with tranquil seating areas around the garden ponds and in the English gardens. Due to the age of the buildings, the hotel does not have a lift, however some ground floor rooms are available Please request at the time of booking. Some of our rooms are large enough to accommodate extra beds or cots for children (at an additional cost), please contact the hotel directly to discuss your requirements. The hotel is an entirely non-smoking venue Free WiFi Internet access in The Meetings Place conference centre and in one public lounge area. No hidden extras. All rates include: VAT @ 17 5%, your en-suite room, full English breakfast, car parking and the use of the Emperors Gym.
