 photo, Duntulm Castle

Duntulm Castle perches atop a high cliff on the north west tip of the Trotternish peninsula, on the beautiful Isle of Skye. An Iron Age broch stood on the site, later replaced by a Pictish fort and a Viking fortification. In the 14th century the Macleods built the first true castle here, and the Macleods stayed until 1730.
