In the south east corner of the chancel are a set of interesting memorial brasses. The two large brasses and the left bottom brass are Victorian monuments to members of the Gawthorne-Hardy family, Earls of Cranbrook. The brass on the bottom right is much earlier, and commemorates Edmund Gibbon, (d. 1607), who founded a school which still survives in attractive period buildings near the churchyard.
