Memorial brasses to John and Emma Catesby, displayed on a modern backboard. John died in 1405 and Emma in 1433. The Catesby family lived at Ashby St Ledgers Manor for several centuries. A descendant, Robert Catesby, is thought to have planned the Gunpowder Plot from a chamber over the manor gatehouse.
