So many of London's icons are historic buildings; here's one that isn't more than a few years old. 30 St Mary Axe, otherwise known as The Gherkin for its resemblance to a pickled cucumber, has achieved a remarkable status as a symbol of London in just a few short years since its construction in 2003.
