The inscription reads, "This is to record that Thomas Picket gave by deed dated 1690, a cottage and about two acres of land at Cadmore End, the Rent of which is to distributed Yearly on St Thomas's Day for ever, to the Poor of Fingest. Also that Mary Mole, widow, of Fingest, gave by will dated 1731, Three pounds per Year for ever, out of the Estate called 'Vining', to be distrubuted to Widows and other Poor Peole of the Parish of Fingest."
