The Circle of Lebanon is at the heart of the west cemetery at Highgate. It is named for a huge cedar of Lebanon tree that stands above this circular, sunken avenue of family vaults. The tree was here at least a century before the cemetery, and probably survived from the old Ashurst Manor estate which once owned the land.
