Built on a site opposite the Railway Station, it was a fore-runner of its time, including such modern convieniences as electric lights, a passenger lift and heating which was ventilated mechanically to all rooms via flues and upwards to the central tower, a wee known landmark in Dumfries Through its ownership by the railways the hotel built up a reputation locally and was County set, it being the place to be seen.We have ample car parking on site,free to residents and Hotel users.
