Lands End to John O'Groats The Nithsdale is an excellent stop for anyone taking on the favoured "Western Route" of the Lands End to John O'Groats cycle run along the A76. Ideal with safe storage for bikes The Nithsdale Hotel is a friendly family run hotel, situated on the A76 approx half way between Dumfries and Kilmarnock in the picturesque setting of Upper Nithsdale. The Hotel has 12- ensuite rooms, public and lounge bars, function suite and restaurant serving traditional food all year round. We are pet friendly with ample private parking Sanquhar is a small town in Dumfries and Galloway. The town has its own 9 hole golf course and is well known for its salmon and trout fishing on the River Nith. Sanquhar is a popular tourist destination and boasts having the oldest existing post office in the world, we are situated on the main Southern Upland Way Walk and the town also has a Seasonal Museum Sanquhar offers loads of different sporting activities including a bowling green, public swimming pool and leisure centre.
