Its location makes it an ideal base for many excursions and activities in the Highlands. Dornoch has home to one of the oldest golf courses in the world and remains one of the finest located along the shoreline overlooking the golden sands of Dornoch s beach.

The Castle boasts a total of 22 en-suite bedrooms situated both within the original castle and the modern garden extension. There is a variety of room types available including standard superior deluxe and our award winning Old Courtroom. Due to the castle's layout each bedroom has its own special ambience great care has been taking in creating a distinctive character in each bedroom.

The Scottish Highlands has become more and more accessible over the years with regular international flights available from Inverness airport. Inverness is merely an hour drive from where guests can enjoy panoramic view as the travel north. Coming Summer 2016: The Dornoch Distillery will be creating an old style whisky and producing a hand crafted organic gin from scratch on the grounds of the Dornoch Castle Hotel.
