11/22/2003 Entry: "Christmas in York"

York Christmas Events Highlights
York is a truly delightful city, especially at Christmas time. A new website, Yuletide York, has been launched to provide visitors with details of the many activities and events on offer in York during the holiday period, including Christmas markets, early music festivals, carol services, accommodation offers, and fine dining.

The Christmas programme is uniquely diverse and offers something for everyone. If you are in need of some retail therapy, enjoy a delightful variety of quality shopping ideas in York's historic streets and bustling Newgate Market. Or why not combine your visit to one of York's three out-of-town shopping parks featuring the best in designer clothing and high street names.

York boasts some of the best specialist markets in the country, starting with St Nicholas Fayre from 27 November - 30 November 2003. This four day Fayre offers an array of traditional markets offering the best in local produce as well as a large range of gifts and goodies for your Christmas stocking.

York's museums, theatres and churches come alive with a variety of festivities, all within walking distance of the city's many cafés, pubs and restaurants.
