GARDENS OPEN IN FEBRUARY FOR CHARITY
The arrival of hellebores and snowdrops heralds the start of garden visiting in February 2004 for the National Gardens Scheme, when gardens up and down England and Wales reveal their early colour. The NGS has released details of gardens open for charity in February, among which is Lacock Abbey, famous as the setting for numerous films, including Pride and Prejudice.Listed below are gardens, county by county, that offer the opportunity to enjoy the delights of garden visiting as spring comes closer.
The Scheme's famous 'Yellow Book' ('Gardens of England and Wales Open for Charity 2004') will be published in late February, price £5.99 or £7.99 incl p&p via the NGS website: www.ngs.org.uk, which lists all the openings throughout the year in support of the Scheme's nursing, gardening and caring charities.
