Historic City announces festival lineup for 2005
The historic city of York has proclaimed itself City of Festivals, and with a lineup of celebrations that will appeal to a wide variety of interests throughout the year, it is hard to go wrong! A new website has been launched to promote festivals in York.

The 'York City of Festivals' initiative will build on the vibrancy of the city's range of festivals and events. The initiative not only aims to promote festivals city wide, but also to increase attendance and extend the programme by encouraging the organisation of more citywide events.

Relatively young festivals such as the Chinese New Year festival, York Roman Festival and the York Comedy Festival are already growing in both popularity and profile, York City of Festivals is already establishing York as a world-class festivals city.
