Regent Street Christmas Lights 2004
On Sunday 7th November the switching on of the Regent Street Christmas Lights will be taking place for the 50th time. Switch-on of the lights is considered one of the great occasions in the Christmas calendar and is the climax of London’s biggest festive street party.

Climb Salisbury Cathedral
Reaching 404 feet above the ground, Salisbury Cathedral’s graceful spire is Britain’s tallest. It is also a spire with a view. Tours can now be taken through the roof spaces to the top of the tower, where visitors can see up into the spire and across the city of Salisbury.

Plas Teg - haunted Welsh mansion opens to visitors
A 17th century mansion in north-east Wales claims to be one of the most haunted houses in the UK. Plas Teg, a recently restored Jacobean house with antique furniture and textiles, is situated in Mold.

London's Christ Church, Spitalfields reopens
A London church dubbed “the St. Paul’s Cathedral of the East End” has been restored to its 18th century grandeur at a cost of £10 million. Regarded as architect Nicholas Hawksmoor’s masterpiece, Christ Church, Spitalfields reopened its doors for worship, public access and as an unusual conference venue in September.

Brilliantly Birmingham Contemporary Jewellery Festival 2005
For the fifth year running, contemporary jewellery festival Brilliantly Birmingham arrives across the city and the West Midlands. Taking place from November 15 to December 24, across multiple venues, this international contemporary jewellery festival is a unique showcase for artists and other individuals involved in selling and creating jewellery in Birmingham and the West Midlands.

Halloween Tours in Yorkshire Castles
The legends of All Saint’s Eve and All Hallow’s Eve are set to be laid bare on Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 October, when the English Heritage castles at Helmsley and Richmond open their doors for two special twilight tours!
