8 nights based in Stirling:
Day One Tuesday August 23
Group arrives under their own devices at the Golden Lion in Stirling.
If a substantial number arrives close together in time at the Glasgow
Airport, a coach can take the group to Stirling. Welcome cocktail reception
and meeting in one of the rooms at the hotel. Followed by group traditional
Scottish dinner at the hotel. (D)
Day Two Wednesday August 24
Hot buffet breakfast available at the hotel, as it is every morning.
Guided tour of Stirling, including its Castle, the Wallace Monument,
and the other historic sites. Afternoon, lunch and dinner will be on
your own to explore this delightful. walkable town. Overnight at Golden
Lion. (B)
Day Three Thursday August 25
Glasgow day. Drive to Glasgow, have tour of the city with our guide.
Includes the Burrell Collection and Cathedral. Lunch on your own at
Burrell Collection or elsewhere. Afternoon free in Glasgow for individual
sightseeing and shopping, as Glasgow is the number one shopping center
in Scotland. Overnight at Golden Lion. (B)
Day Four Friday August 26
Edinburgh day. Drive to Edinburgh, have tour of the city with guide,
including the Castle, Holyrood, and the other famous sites. Lunch, afternoon
and dinner on their own for travelers to enjoy Edinburgh and all of
the electricity and activities of the Festival. Evening performance
for the group at the Military Tattoo in best seats. Overnight at Golden
Lion.(B)
Day Five Saturday August 27
Tour of Scone Castle and Glamis Castle Tour of St. Andrews with time
to see the golf course. Lunch on your own. Go to Edinburgh on way back
so that travelers may attend more Festival activities. Return to Stirling
on their own. Overnight at the Golden Lion.(B)
Day Six Sunday August 28
Drive the scenic route westward to see Loch Lomond and Inverary. Tour
Inverary Castle. Stop at the picturesque village of Luss for a walkabout.
Dinner will be Burns Theme at the Golden Lion with Piping in of the
Haggis, Address to the Haggis, and Highland Dancers performing. Overnight
at Golden Lion. (B,D)
Day Seven Monday August 29
Travel via Perth and Blowgowrie on through the Spittal of Glenshee (stopping
at the restaurant for morning coffee), to Braemar and Balmoral (seeing
the chapel where the Royal Family worships), Ballater (shopping and
lunch on your own), Crathes Castle, photo stop at Donnottar Castle,
and return to Stirling. Overnight at the Golden lion. (B)
Day Eight Tuesday August 30
A totally free day for the travelers, so that they can go to Edinburgh,
Glasgow, or wherever. (B)
Day Nine Wednesday August 31
Highlands/Loch Ness day. Travel through Callander, Glen Coe, Spean Bridge
, Loch Ness. See Urquhart Castle, and sail on Loch Ness. Overnight at
the Columba Hotel, Inverness. Dinner at the Hotel. (B, D)
Day Ten Thursday September 1
Isle of Skye. Take the rail excursion from Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh.
Return via Eilean Donan. Dinner at the Hotel. (B,D)
Day Eleven Friday September 2
See the Culloden Visitor Center. Tour of a Whiskey Center.
Travel through Pitlochry and Edradour to the Bruce Hotel, East Kilbride.
Farewell dinner at the hotel. (B, D)
Day Twelve Saturday September 3
Departure day. Guests will be assisted with transportation to Glasgow
Airport. If a sufficient number are departing close in time, a coach
can be arranged to take them to the airport together. (B)

Accommodation
August 23 through August 30 (8 nights) will be in Stirling. August 31
through September 2 (3 nights) will be in Inverness.
Please be aware that this is the planned itinerary, and sometimes
adjustments have to be made due to unforeseen occurrences such as unexpected
closings of hotels, restaurants, sites and activities. A final itinerary
will be provided to travelers in their Packet which is sent out about
3-4 weeks prior to departure.
