Three large stones stand aligned in a field. The stones are said to represent a victory in battle of King Harold, though a prehistoric origin is more likely.

Hendre Waelod Burial Chamber
Dolmen tomb on the River Conwy dating to 3500 BCE fronted by portal stones standing 10 feet high. The tomb is topped a massive capstone.

King's Quoit
Two low sidestones support a striking capstone in this small chambered tomb. The tomb is beautifully perched in a dramatic location above Manorbier Bay.

Only seven of the original 13-14 stones remain of this circle. Of those that remain, the tallest is but 3 feet in height.

A Neolithic burial chamber composed of a projecting capstone supported by three standing stones. There are several solitary standing stones in the area.

Moel Ty Uchaf
A cairn circle measuring 39 feet across, composed of 41 standing stones. None of the stones is very tall, though the location provides wonderful views over the valley below. A cist has been found in the centre of the circle. Nearby is the Ring of Tyfos stone circle.

A bit of a mish-mash of small, scattered stones in a rough circle of 30 feet diameter within a low embankment.

St. Nicholas, Glamorgan

A striking chambered tomb of unusual height. The capstone measures 14 feet long x 10 feet wide. The tomb is located close to Tinkinswood.

St. Nicholas, Glamorgan
Tinkinswood Tinkinswood
One of the best-preserved chambered cairns in Britain, topped by the largest capstone (15 x 24 feet and 40 tons in weight). The cairn is wedge-shaped, though the actual chamber is rectangular. The tomb is fronted by a forecourt of drystone walls. Within the chamber were found bones from at least 40 people buried duing the Neolithic period. It seems likely that the cairn was used for ceremonial purposes right through the Bronze Age.

One of the many prehistoric remains surrounding Brecks. There are two circles of small stones here, the larger measuring 74 feet in diameter. A small mound in the centre of the larger ring may indicate a burial.
