Blaenavon Ironworks Museum The best preserved example of an 18 century ironworks in Western Europe and centre of the Blaenavon World Heritage Site, nominated by UNESCO. Complete with furnaces, cast houses and ironworkers cottages. The Tourist Information Centre is situated at the Ironworks. Guided tours are available.

Displays trace the growth of Chepstow as an important port city, and its subsequent decline and transformation into a busy market town. A collection of 18th and 19th century prints and drawings illustrate the beauty of Chepstow and the Wye Valley.

 Corris Railway Museum
  

Corris Railway Museum The Corris railway was one of Wale's busiest narrow guage (2' 3") lines, carrying the product of this small village's slate quarry to Machynlleth. The railway closed in 1948, but it has now reopened to passengers (details at the website). The history of the line lives on in the museum, chock-full of memorabilia, including old photos.

The village, which is built around an authentic 12th century fortified manor, has been made to emulate life in the year 1350. Internal Fire - Museum of Power Dedicated to the preservation of the internal combustion engine in industry and agriculture. A working museum open all year round with large engines running daily. The collection covers early gas engines through to gas turbines but with the emphasis on diesel power from the 1920s to the 1960s.
