The 12th-century church of St Mary in Llanfair-ar-y-bryn stands within the walls of a 1st-century Roman fort. The church began as a monastic cell of Malvern Priory in Worcestershire and served as a chapel of ease for Llandingat before becoming a parish church in its own right. Look for a 15th-century font and traces of medieval wall paintings.
