The Richmond Hotel, set on the main Georgian promenade at the heart of the historic town of Aberystwyth. The hotel was originally built as two town houses for prosperous merchants and, in partnership with the Wales Tourist Board, Ceredigion County Council and Cadw, we have recently completed an overhaul of the hotel frontage to restore it to its original Georgian splendour. Aberystwyth is surrounded by some great scenery and places of Interest such as Devil's Bridge, the Hafod estate and ynyslas to name but a few, these places are within easy reach by car or by public transport. There is a mainline Railway station in the town, and also a narrow gauge steam train - this meanders up the vale of rheidol to Devil's Bridge. There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy Aberystwyth starting from the doorstep of the Hotel, with strolls along the promenade, past the pier and on towards the castle, the harbour and the mouth of both the rivers 'Ystwyth' and 'Rheidol' to south. Constitution Hill with its cliff railway, at the North end of the prom, this offers panoramic views of cardigan bay and Aberystwyth's surrounding landscape. We have recently undergone a refurbishment at the Richmond Hotel, updating rooms.A number of the refurbished rooms include new contemporary bathrooms, decor and lighting. Please Note: We are a No-Smoking property.
