You don t have to go far to discover the delights of the local area as this fantastic property offers direct access to the breathtaking cliffs and waterfall at Spekes Mill Mouth which overlooks a secluded beach. The village of Hartland is only three miles away where as well as the shops Post Office and pubs Hartland Quay is home to its museum and a history of shipwrecks dwindling remains of which can be found on the beaches at Hartland Point. The area is teeming with places of interest; others include Clovelly The Big Sheep The Milky Way and the sandy beaches across the border in Cornwall.
Docton Mill famous for its ice cream can be found adjacent to the property. The beautiful extremely well-equipped property offers somewhere for a family or big group to base themselves during a holiday in Devon. Packed with lots of little details and plenty of facilities and activities it has everything guests could possibly need.
On the ground floor you will find the well-appointed kitchen with striking gas Aga taking centre stage. This is used for cooking and hot water but during the summer months will be switched off and hot water will be available via the immersion heater. The kitchen also offers an electric oven with halogen hob microwave American style fridge/freezer and all the useful extras you would expect.
There is also a separate utility room with a Miele washing machine tumble dryer and dishwasher a useful spot for storing walking boots and wellies. The lounge is a large galleried room reached via a few steps from a smaller lounge with woodburner and a large selection of books. There is a stairgate at the top of the steps in case you are bringing small children.
The main lounge has a woodburner TV/DVD hi-fi seating and a raised area ideal for relaxing amongst the cushions. The dining room also has an open fire and is complete with a dining room table seating up to 10 people and another selection of books. One of the five bedrooms can be found on the ground floor and offers a double with en-suite shower room with WC.
Upstairs there is a further king- with access to a twin room via open-tread stairs with 2 6 beds and a low sloping ceiling. The upstairs also offers a further twin and one bunk bedroom with a TV for DVDs and video viewing ideal for the children. There is a large bathroom with shower over bath separate shower and WC which is reached from the light and airy landing.
Each room in the house has been finished with unique décor and lots of character. The adjoining garage has been transformed into a games room complete with a full size table tennis table football and dart board. A further small room is perfect for youngsters to escape to and has a fridge hi-fi and sofa.
The outside of this property a real treat for visitors. There is a decked area with garden furniture where you can relax in the sunshine but head off into the woods and you ll find all kinds of delights. The garden is a mix of paths bridges lawns woodland and a charming log seating area around a camp fire (weather permitting).
The grounds lead down to an unfenced stream (you will need to beware with children) where wild brown trout can be caught. There is hours of fun to be had exploring the extensive grounds of this wonderful property. There is parking for three cars.
