340 ACRES SHEEP CIDER APPLES WOODLANDS RIVER TORRIDGE FISHING This pretty detached 16th century thatched cottage is surrounded by its own gardens and nestles in peaceful unspoilt countryside on a working family farm in Northwest Devon. The farm has pedigree Poll Dorset sheep which graze extensively on clover-rich pastures and riverside meadows. The orchards and river host a wealth of insect species which attract numerous birds to the farm; skylarks hover above the orchards and kingfishers flash along the river. The farm is a haven for wildlife and visitors are welcome to roam and enjoy it. An evening stroll will often encompass a glimpse of many of the shyer creatures with barn owls deer foxes badgers and ducks nestling down for the night on the river and even an occasional glimpse of an otter.

The owners are also happy for visitors to observe where appropriate work in progress on the farm such as lambing shearing or the apple harvest. There is something of interest for much of the year. With full central heating and a woodburner in the beamed lounge the cottage is a cosy comfortable destination for out-of-season holidays and short breaks as well as summer holidays.

Game fishing is available (by prior arrangement with the owners) on a 1.5 mile stretch of the River Torridge within the farm and is recommended by many previous visitors. The cottage is within easy driving reach of North Devon and North Cornwall's coastlines as well as Dartmoor.
