This detached stone-built former crofter's cottage with an open fire for 2 people is in the tiny village of Suladale between the coastal towns of Portree and Dunvegan on the Isle of Skye on the west coast of Scotland.

The Old Cottage was once a humble crofter’s dwelling, but it has now been lovingly restored and carefully renovated to become a delightfully comfortable holiday home in the tranquil hamlet of Suladale on the Isle of Skye. The owners have refurbished the cottage to ensure that it stays in keeping with its traditional Scottish character and surroundings, and the attractive accommodation includes a wood burning stove in the open plan living area, and a bedroom with four poster bed. Anyone looking for a romantic getaway will find it at The Old Cottage.

The owners have created a warm and welcoming holiday cottage which reflects the special magic of the Isle of Skye.

Suladale was not found on any maps. It was not signposted and the riding school was not named. It was not at the end of the road but up a steep rough track with a heavy barred gate that had to be open and closed every time we went out. The cottage smelt of old wood smoke and was very cold. We do not blame anyone for the lack of good weather but we could not have afforded to stay longer because it was so cold. We are elderly and would not recommend this particular cottage.

Lovely cottage, brilliant location!
Great cottage, well equipped with wood burner (essential for our visit in April!) and even an electric blanket!! Good location, very quiet and peaceful setting.

The Old Cottage is a lovely cottage with a great view. The owners were very friendly and helpful too.

The Old Cottage was beautiful, restful and calming, with stunning surroundings. It provided everything you need for a comfortable stay. It is perfectly situated for touring the the beautiful Isle of Skye, with its amazing scenery and so much too see and do. We loved the cottage so much we stayed two extra days and didn't want to leave and we are hoping to return very soon. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
