This magnificent and unusual property is able to sleep seven people, sharing three bedrooms, and so is an ideal family property or perhaps for a group of friends.

Set in a quiet corner of the pretty village of Gatehouse of Fleet, this property is a magnificent church-wing conversion in the midst of the picturesque Dumfries and Galloway countryside. Retaining much of its original character and charm, this property boasts original windows and oak floors as well as the remains of the original pews in the grand entrance hall. With the sitting room on the third floor, visitors can enjoy the fabulous views over the river in addition to their beautiful riverside garden with private mooring for small boats.

There are also a number of tempting shops, pubs and restaurants in the village.

Perfect holiday home
We have visited twice now and had a brilliant time both visits. We booked both east and west gable and went with friends and family. The garden in the summer was brilliant and we had lots of bbqs. October was a bit chillier but the kitchen was big enough for all 12 of us to gather together to eat. The cottages have everything you could possibly need and are beautifully decorated. We would love to go again and I hope to book another holiday there in the not too distant future.

A wonderful house in a wonderful location
We booked our October mid-term break to stay at East Gable with family and friends. The house itself is beautiful, clean and offers lots of space. Having hired a number of rental properties over the years we found this one to be very well stocked. It was very clean and we enjoyed eating all together at the large kitchen table and the two sitting rooms it offered. The garden and surrounding area are gorgeous. We spent many hours walking in the forest on the doorstep of the property. There were lots to do in the surrounding area for children and many day trips to enjoy. While it rained for the first two days we found plenty to do. I must also mention that I left my laptop at the house and both the cleaner and the owner were incredibly helpful and returned my laptop to me, much to my relief! I would highly recommend both this fabulous house and the area. Top tip - don't just look on the internet for activities visit the tourist information office for leaflets.

An excellent stay, the cottage was well located for our events with the Vintage Humbers who were mainly based in the Cally Palace. The Gatehouse of Fleet is a fascinating village with lots to offer.

This was a fantastic location; a lovely riverside setting in a nice village with a good standard of accommodation.

A great location and set-up, it was spacious and well organized with a lovely garden, in a lovely town. We felt very much at home.
