This is a quaint little cottage for 2 people in a the quiet village of Goodrich near to Ross-on-Wye.

Just returned for a lovely 2 night stay at Jolly's! Richard was brilliant with communication before the trip through fear of snow! Was more than happy to work with us if needed to move our break! Very clean & nice little accommodation. Was very homely, we didn?t want to leave. Continental breakfast left in the room and replenished each morning which was great. Richard suggested some food places & walls which was lovely & it made our 3 days enjoyable! Thanks very much & see you again when we visit The Forest of Dean again! :) Marie & Phil

Superb accomodation
The minute you walked through the front door you knew the accomodation was going to be good and that's such a relief when holidaying in the UK as you never know how much time you will need to spend there with our unpredictable weather. Well this cottage was immaculate but also cosy. The bedroom had a massive bed with lovely bed linen that smelt really fresh, plenty of wardrobe/drawers etc. The lounge had two 2 seater settees, a flat screen TV, a fire and cupboard housing numerous books mostly of walks in and around the area. The bathroom was spotless and spacious. The kitchen had a small table with 2 chairs, fridge, cooker, toaster, microwave and a welcome pack of Eccles cakes, crisps and apple juice. The owners had even left out vinegar, salt and pepper, sugar, washing up liquid, cleaning cloths, the sort of things you forget to take with you but don't think it's worth buying for the short time you're there. The outside had a small patio with 2 garden chairs and a parking space for 1 car. The owners run the local post office come general store (the only one in the village I think) and the cottage is attached to this but it is very quiet. There is a castle you can walk to and we cycled to symmonds yat along the beautiful countryside. There is one pub within walking distance which was very cosy but I thought a little on the expensive side for what you got, but there were other pubs not to far away if you didn't mind driving. We didn't get to meet the owners, although we knew we could reach them via the post office, because the cottage had everything we needed, even the heating had been adjusted so that after we'd been out all day it was lovely and warm to come home to. Couldn't fault this property the owners had thought of everything.

Very comfortable accommodation in a lovely peaceful area. The owners had provided lots of leaflets and books on the area including lots of walks.

We liked the peacefulness and centrality of the cottage. There was good off road parking for our car. In a beautiful area with good walks from the cottage or in easy reach, and walk guide books provided by the owner. A warm, comfortable cottage for the winter evenings.

An excellent choice for a Christmas break. Truly a comfy, cosy and tranquil choice. The village is quaint and peaceful and its proximity to other towns is ideal. The owners were also very pleasant and helpful. All in all we had a wonderful Christmas.
