This luxurious end terraced barn conversion is near the village of Llandysul in Wales, and can sleep two people.

The Stables is a superb barn conversion on a donkey sanctuary in Wales, 13 miles from Cardigan. There is one bedroom here, a beautiful room with vaulted ceiling, Japanese Maple bath, chaise longue, super-king-size double bed and en-suite with jet-shower. Downstairs, a spacious open plan living area has a well-equipped kitchen, dining area and sitting area with woodburner. Outside, the cottage has a private slate patio area, and also enjoys shared use of a decked area, hot tub, sauna and gym. There is also off road parking. Perfect for a romantic break, The Stables is near to walking, beaches, castles and of course stunning countryside.

An ideal get away from the fast pace of city life
I stayed in The Stables Cottage at Happy Donkey Hill in March 2018. I will start by saying, I've already been checking availability for a return visit. On arrival I was greeted by the co-owner Andy who gave me a rundown of how things around the cottage, communal area and hot tub works. There was a welcome hamper which consisted of Bread, Coffee, Tea, Sugar, Dishwasher Tabs, Fruit Teacakes, Filter Coffee and some Milk in the Fridge. I was also provided with a large basket of wood for the wood burner which was enough for about 2 fires. Also provided were bath towels, hot tub towels (due to chlorine), iron and hair dryer. You can purchase Eggs and extra fire wood at the property. Each Cottage has its own Hot Tub, of you wish to use it this is charged at ?10 per day or ?50 per week. I advise taking flip flops or crocs (if you're a crocs type person) as the hot tubs are at the top of the courtyard and you need to walk over slate chips to reach them. The communal facilities are; washer with washing powder, home gym equipment, table tennis, sauna and a bookshelf stacked with books & DVDs. Animals in and around the farm are; donkeys, horses, rheas, goats, pigs, chickens, cockerels, llamas, sheep and cats. Dogs are allowed to be brought and if you do, a dog towel, some dog chews and an engraved tag to affix to their collar just in case it runs off. I know dogs have stayed in the Stables property before as I have read it on other reviews however I did not see or smell any evidence of this. Which is a testament to good cleaning between tenants. The cottage was clean except for a dirty oven tray, which was obviously an oversight based on the high level of care and attention which had been paid to everything else and it was remedied by me. The Sofa is a 2 seater separated by a middle section which has cup holders and lifting arm rest. The chairs are both recliners in 2 positions. Very comfortable. Most of my nights were spent reclining with the wood burner lit watching the TV which is a smart TV (Netflix, YouTube and other apps), connected to the Wifi and also has a DVD player attached. The bed was HUGE but did have weird slopes on each side. As I managed to get comfortable by sleeping on the high bit in the middle. This would probably be sorted by the mattress being turned, but it's not like I could do it myself - Haha. The village is about a mile away and has a couple of pubs, a chemist, a Spar, a butcher, a beauty salon called 'Time 4 You' amongst others. The secluded location and farm noises made it a great relaxing get away from the fast pace of city life. I can?t wait to visit again.

Amazing. Relaxing. Romantic.
The hosts could not be more welcoming or do enough for you. The cottage is beautifully decorated and the Maple bath is a luxury. The hot tub is a perfect way to relax and the log burning stove is a romantic touch. We cannot wait to return next year!

Thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay at The Stables, the location and views were superb. The hosts couldn't do enough for you and made us feel very welcome. The hot tub was the icing on the cake for me and we made use of our own hot tub every evening with a bottle of wine, will definitely be back.

In a beautiful part of Wales. We liked the farm, the bath and the modern feel to the place. The bedroom was excellent, pretty much perfect, and the bed was massive and comfortable. Everything was well thought out in design. Loved the hot tub and the property overall is very nice.
