Stay at Maryend Cottage
What a beautiful homely clean cottage - we loved it. It had everything you could possibly hope for- except a pub next door.

Quiet Retreat
Very quiet position in a really quiet hamlet! The cottage has everything you need, well equipped with very serviceable kitchen equipment, plenty of everything. Nice new kitchen with a good range cooker, lacking an extractor fan and could get very warm when making dinner in the evening but able to open the door. Nice enclosed garden that we could let the dogs into and sit in when it was dry and warm enough, but the furniture shown in the pictures was not available although there was adequate seating. Nice to have 2 double beds in a 3 bedroom house for 2 friends travelling together when one usually has to have a single bed! And very comfortable too! Plenty of extra bedding should we need it. Nice walks from the house and saw my first ever red squirrel! About 1/2 hour walk across the fields into Hawes which is well served for everything you need. Plenty of nice, dog friendly pubs and coffee shops all with free wifi for a daily fix! Usually managed to park just outside the cottage, by the phone box but on one occasion had to park at the top of the hill. Drive really too narrow to get a standard car in.
