Large quirky coach house in lovely village location
Lovely dog friendly house in a great location for exploring Dumfries & Galloway area. The photos of the coach house do not do it justice, it is much bigger and brighter, especially downstairs where there are windows to the floor (which our dog loved) giving great views out over the large garden (which the dog also loved). The house is also warm, comfortable and well equipped. We were lucky to have bright sunny weather - never a given in Scotland in late October - so we made the most of our short break. Owner was on site to welcome us, and to walk us round the property, and a wee welcome pack was also provided, milk, bread, butter and biscuits.

beautiful property in friendly village
this property is even better than the current photos show, the rooms are lovely with an interesting mix of furniture and decor, there is a large landing with extra bed and babies cot. the surrounding area is quiet with some lovely gentle walks straight out of the back gate where you come across the local (friendly) farmers and some bee hives. instead of the usual key box we were met by our host and given a tour of the property, which was an unexpected treat. you have to be prepared to drive out ( over very interesting high roads , meeting sheep and spotting kites along the way) to visit the surrounding area but, it's well worth the effort.

Just come back from marvellous new year celebration. The Coach house is spacious and tastefully decorated. Kitchen is large and well equipped. Bedrooms are comfortable; 3 bathrooms including disabled facilities. Front room is spacious but has a very cosy feel. Wifi is good and Moniaive is a friendly welcoming place; 2 good pubs, Italian restaurant and a large local shop. Owners of Hastings Hall are very friendly and helpful. All in all we had great stay and New Year.

This cottage was lovely. It was very comfortable cottage. It felt more like a home than a holiday let. It was quiet and peaceful. The host was helpful and unobtrusive. The kitchen had everything you needed.
