Lovely cottage, no airs and graces,
We had a great stay at Glan Twrch. Ideal four us and our dogs, logburner was great, kitchen is spacious and well equiped, bedding was comfy and clean, it is the perfect base to see the sights from, if you expect 5 star luxury accommodation, this isn't it. but it is clean, comfy, cosy, spacious, and normal, great for family stays. the location is second to none, a river and waterfall right outside, not overlooked. What more could you want from a cottage?

Loved this cottage, there was plenty of room for 4 adults and a 6 year old to run around. The garden was lovely, I could sit by the waterfall all day and watch the wildlife. The views from the cottage were beautiful, we could watch the sun set behind the mountains. Had a really good week there, will be returning.

It's location was excellent, with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. It was also very central to the areas we wanted to visit, and the peace and quiet it offered us was extremely appealing.

An enjoyable stay. The most important part is a comfortable bed and this had just that. The cottage was cosy and warm. It was set in a wonderful location near to some great walks. We had an enjoyable stay and would return.

One to miss in its present condition
We stayed her for a week from Easter Saturday. This cottage is situated in a lovely setting however it is not in the best state of decoration or cleanliness. We had to wash all the crockery, glasses, cutlery and pans before use as they were dirty. The kitchen is dangerous as the socket where the radio is located has a loose or broken screw which meant that it came away from the wall when extracting a plug, the kitchen lighting is insufficient with blue bulbs and some missing! and there are no bulbs in the cooker hood. So dangerous to use the kitchen after dark. The settings on the cooker have rubbed off. The grill pan handle was broken and unsafe to use. The wallpaper in most rooms is peeling and the plaster coming off the wall in the fireplace. There were cobwebs in the bathroom, bedrooms and on top of the cooker hood. The whole place is neglected. The woodburner had not been emptied of ashes nor the glass cleaned. The valance sheets on the back bedroom and single bedroom were dirty and watermarked. The main bedroom lights did not work on the dimmer switches either because of an electrical fault or the wrong bulbs. The standard lamp in the single bedroom did not work either. The covers on the settee were filthy and when the sofas were moved forward the areas behind them were extremely dirty. The table mats were dirty and had to be cleaned before use as was the freezer compartment of the fridge/freezer. I suppose I should have made a complaint at the time however not wishing to cause any further upset to my family I did not. Having paid a premium for this cottage during Easter half term I would not have expected it to be in such a poor condition and am very disappointed. I will not be re-visiting either the property or Sykes Cottages in the future and certainly will not be recommending either to friends and family
