This cottage is in the most perfect location, particularly if visitor has dogs. Very quiet as if no roads nearby. Beautiful grounds to walk in and River Tweed very close. The owner was very friendly and helpful and we were most comfortable.

Lovely location but property a little tired
For the price, and taking the dog we didn't expect the ritz. However the cracked kitchen sink (complete with bowl to catch the drips) set the tone for the rest of the cottage. On arrival the clean and fresh smell was inviting but the cobwebs and the greasy kitchen implements less so (toaster, radio, pan stands etc.). Generally the cottage was very tired, eg wall paper coming away in places, doors not latching properly. For most of our stay the cottage was lovely and quiet, however on the Frdiay a family arrived to stay in the upstairs apartment and we very aware of the creaking ceilings as they moved around. Having said all of that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the cottage provided an excellent base from which to explore the borders and Northhumberland. Don't feel we could recommend it until it was freshened up.

A very cosy and comfortable cottage, grand reception from the owner. The most outstanding thing was the peace and quiet plus the lovely early morning walks through the woodlands to the River Tweed. Also there is the advantage that the town of Coldstream is a 5 minute walk away.
Mr Cowler

Fabulous location and very comfortable accommodation.
Mrs Mattock

Great to find an older property all on one level. Great location and very quiet. A second bathroom was a bonus. A great find.
