Autumn break
Booked the holiday after seeing it on the Sykes web site. Good points : good location, quiet location, dog friendly, susbstantial accomodation, average level of cleanliness, clean bedding and towels. Ample off road parking, situated next to a green space and a park with lake a short walk away. Dishwasher, washing machine and decent sized fridge freezer. Tv ok. Bathroom is about the best room in the house. However, on our arrival we discovered that many of the lights needed replacing (which to be fair were mostly replaced the next day) one of the burners on the oven didn't work. The flooring in the kitchen area is very poorly laid. The decked area is uninspiring, there us to a garden just an over run neglected area. All furnishings are old fashioned and look to be charity shop purchases, no locks on either fvthectwo toilets, holes here and there in the walls. The property looks to have had a leak that has affected the hallway ceiling, surely that could be re plastered? The double bed has a very thin mattress, the two singles are slightly better as are the adult bunks. The table lamp in the bunk bedroom doesn't work, the table lamp in the twin bedroom isn't very useful. Furnishings in the bedroom are of poor quality. There were no decent sized wine glasses, the lounge has a mis match assortment of furniture, but only provides seating for five. The outside drive is messy with weeds growing through. Some of the kitchen knives are quite dangerous. This holiday let is in desperate need of attention, it's overall impression is one of being run down and neglected.. It's not accomodation we would wish to return to.

This is the third time we have stayed here and it gets better every year. There was everything we needed for an extended stay and we found it clean and comfortable.
Mrs Brown

Very good quality accommodation which allowed us to bring our dog with us. There was easy access to Poole and Bournemouth.
Mr Garrett

Explorer House is a really nice house in a good location for Poole and other attractions. The beds were very comfortable with ample cupboards. The Kitchen/Diner was family friendly. There were plenty of local shops and takeaways with very friendly shop-keepers.
Mrs Smith

Explorer House is in a quiet cul de sac with good parking. Its in easy distance to Poole harbour and an easy drive to Bournemouth and Weymouth as well. The house was warm and well equipped. Good size dining room table and clean d?cor throughout.
