Not everything
Much to like about this property but a few niggles. 1. A sign at the gate would have been helpful. 2. Don?t end up with the twin bedded room. You get a sink in a cupboard and then have to use the ?communal? toilet/bathroom downstairs which is a real pain, especially at night. 3. Don?t be too ambitious about having a shower. The plumbing clearly cannot cope. Trying to have shower in ice water with snow falling outside was no fun. 4. Hot tub? Ask yourself why there are no pictures. The concept of sitting out there looking at the stars is very odd. In recommending I would say, get there early, make sure that you find the place, grab the best room, don?t bother with a swimsuit, take wet wipes instead of shower gel.

Wonderful break spoilt by owners withholding our housekeeping bond.
This is a wonderful house with excellent facilities in a great location. We were a group of 9 professional ladies between 50 and 70 years of age who thoroughly enjoyed and looked after the property - treating it as if it was our own. We told the owner that had broken two glasses and even didn't use the hot tub as we noticed the water level had dropped. Six days after we left, the owner contacted us to say he was not refunding our bond as we had caused damage to the Aga lids. We categorically did not cause any damage. Sykes Cottages would not intervene and it has left us feeling very upset. They can't prove we caused the damage - but have still kept our ?200. I would have rated this Excellent - but after email and telephone exchanges, I have decided on Poor

Highly Recommended
Fantastic home which is perfect for large gatherings. Beautifully decorated, spacious and well equipped with plenty of space for everyone. Despite being large it felt very homely and we all enjoyed our stay here. Games room and hot tub great for keeping teenagers amused.Touches like supplying robes and slippers added to the experience. Would highly recommend this property. Owners lovely and nothing was too much trouble.
