Location: There is an excellent restaurant in the village. At Armathwaite (1.5 miles) are local shops, pub-restaurants and railway station on the famous Settle to Carlisle Line.
Supermarket shopping is available in the larger village of Lazonby (4.5 miles). The River Eden itself is ideal for angling, canoeing and other recreational pursuits.
The Eden Valley is excellent walking country with many interesting and attractive walks in the area.
