Dire (Seagulls Fairbourne)
Our family paid a lot of money to stay in this property during half term week (?995 - basically One Thousand Pounds)
Only to be thoroughly disappointed! Not only by the property not being fit for purpose (broken bedroom window, broken patio door, blocked toilets and overflowing bin to name a few) the patio which had a sign stuck on stating 'Do Not Open'.
Had we have known there's no way we would have spent the money on this BASIC property.
But worse than that and even more disappointing is the owners personality and their disgusting attitude towards their paying guests.
Sykes cottages (letting agent) tried to support us however their client (owner of Segulls Fairbourne) has tried to discredit everything we've said despite evidence provided and conversations with her colleagues sent to the property to provide supposed help ie a roofer with gaffer tape to fix a broken window and a woman to look at the blocked toilets and overflowing bins; who eventually advised ourselves to pack the window with kitchen roll which we did due to having no other options or help. A builder never arrived.
Needless to say we got through the holiday, cutting it short by 2 days due the obvious reasons of the property not being habitable.
Even more upsetting on our return; and when raising the relevant issues the owner has turned the blame onto us (it's unknown how when it's her property to let and maintain and we were unsuspecting, PAYING visitors).
Furthermore we have now discovered that we were the last guests in for this year and therefore, they were very aware of the imminent and on-going issues in their property, and 'apparently' planned to rectify these after our visit had ended.. Which obviously feels like a £1,000 insult to us or to whoever the poor unsuspecting last guests could have been to stay @ Seagulls Fairbourne!
To conclude inevitably this was an extremely expensive, poor show from someone who is ment to be a business person, and again apparently has a number of properties around the area.
Please book with caution as she has no compassion, people skills or understanding and clearly is an expert only in getting out of disputes around her own issues.
Clearly it is a money-making scheme and she fits the persona from correspondence received through Sykes cottages.
We will never waste our time and/or money booking a property with this particular individual again and would urge others not to waste theirs either!
It's far too much of an expensive disappointment!!

Family at Fairbourne Visits
So cosy and comfortable. Loved the ensuite bedroom, have booked this bungalow twice, location is perfect for visiting nearby family. Spacious accommodation well looked after. Weather doesn't matter to us because we always go back to this lovely home!

Totally relaxing
We met our friends here for a short break to visit an area we hadn't explored before . This bungalow is wonderful , fully equipped everything you need plus lots of little Designer touches . Very clean upon arrival and we really appreciated the 2 bathrooms . Comfy sofas , brand new carpets you could see the owners had invested in the property for the new season
The beach is a minute walk from Seagulls and one day we had the beach to ourselves for over an hour
Fabulous walk along the Estuary and over to Barmouth which has some great tea shops , galleries and independent shops
The highlight was walking up to Cader idris , the Mountain range can be seen from the back garden of Seagulls , again we hardly saw anyone
We all agreed the bst waliking holiday we have had in the UK and loved the area so much we shall return next year

Seagulls is lovely, comfortable and relaxing with a comfy dining room and living room. It has nice views onto mountains and the field of horses opposite. There was lots of room to park. Would highly recommend this lovely cottage in arguably the most beautiful part of Wales.
