In the heart of the dales
Very well equipped cosy cottage within walking distance of several pubs, spar shop & the usual hikers equipment shop. The owner who lives next door was very helpful & vast array of information was provided to help explore the area. The ideal base .

Spacious, well-equipped, lots of nice touches
The cottage is in a great location very much in the middle of the Yorkshire Dales: we only used our car twice during the week's stay - there are plenty of walks starting straight from the front door. Plus points: accommodation is spacious, well-equipped, lots of nice touches - we could have left stuff at home if we had known how much was in the cottage, we even found a roll of cling film in the kitchen drawer (good for self-catering packed lunches). Great wifi - it was a real pleasure to use in Blythe Cottage; whereas we have stayed in other accommodation that offered wifi but which proved to be so slow and unreliable as to be unusable. Minus points: located on a cobbled section of street which forms part of the one way system around Hawes, it is not the quietest place. Have to be flexible about car parking - can't park outside the cottage, there is a free car park nearby, but sometimes we had to find street parking and then move onto the car park later when space became available - as long as you know the score, this really is not a problem.

We loved everything, the cottage was lovely and in the right place for us. Everything in the cottage was fantastic and the owner was nice but didn't intrude. Will be booking it again.

We loved everything about our holiday! The cottage was perfect and the location was even better. We would highly recommend this cottage and Hawes. We were surrounded by lovely countryside, wildlife, walks, waterfalls, markets, shops & restaurants. Couldn't have asked for more.

Perfect cosy country christmas
Lovely property, traditionally furnished but had everything we needed. Friendly, helpful and hospitable owner next door but not intrusive. Perfectly situated in Hawes at the edge of the town which minimised street noise but within 2-10 minutes walk of all amenities. The separate, and equally cosy, sitting room in the attic was commandeered by X-box playing husband (bottle of single malt in hand) leaving Mum and myself to wallow in the Christmas soaps and specials. Small kitchen but managed to cook a sumptuous Christmas dinner with a little planning that was ready altogether and hot. 10 out of 10 for me
