The cottage was lovely and we felt very comfortable. It is a delightful cottage, very cosy and most importantly very clean. The decor is pleasant and a second TV in the bedroom a luxury!

The cottage was just as we expected with lovely features - traditional flint, beamed ceilings and original latched doors - It really did feel like a cottage if that makes sense.

Holiday ruined by heavy traffic on busy road 10 feet from the front door.
The cottage is pleasant enough, but our holiday was ruined by excessive noise and vibration from the A1067 which runs past the property approximately 10 feet from the front door. The cottage physically shakes when a heavy vehicle goes by, which is about once a minute, day and night. Proximity to the road meant that a wave of water "smacks" against the front door as vehicles go past in the rain.
Sykes DO make a reference to the road - "there may be some road noise", but this understates the severity of the road disturbance by a dramatic margin.
We are suffering sleep deprivation in consequence. This is miserable. Not a holiday at all.
I have spoken to Sykes' customer services, who were patronising and dismissive of the problem - quote- "if we described the true extent of the problem, the landlord would never sign the description off."
Finally, I believe there is a serious risk in the event of fire. Only one door. The windows do not open sufficiently to be a means of escape. The wood burner is in the same room as the exit door.
There is no fire risk assessment (statutory requirement)
I really would advise avoiding this property.
