Great hosts made us feel very welcome Type in the postcode into your sat-nav and it should bring you directly to a group of holiday cottages on Nant Ucha farm. We stayed in the Granary and we were given a nice welcome by Heather. There was a bowl of mint imperials, 2 brownies, a jug of milk and 6 eggs from the farm to welcome us.
Both beds were comfortable. As it states in the apartment information the double bed is against a wall so its a bit of a problem if you both need to get up in the night. So I slept in the little room with a single bed. This room is set up and decorated for a young child, with the window screwed shut and star shaped night light. Despite this I slept very well.
The apartment is reached via a short outside staircase and has a small veranda but no chairs on the veranda.
The living room/ kitchen is compact but very well equipped with an electric oven and induction hob, toaster, microwave and large fridge/freezer. There is a large TV which was easy to use. There is good wifi on an unsecured network.
The bathroom is small with a single shower which had a good pressure though the shower did tend to fill up if used at full power. It was also a bit slippy. The main problem was that there was no where to put the soap or shampoo except on the floor. This was a problem for me as I cannot bend down.
The best feature of our stay was Heather and her father who were both very friendly and helpful. JonathanIreland 2018-07-12
Lovely location but very small This Let is set in a lovely setting, just outside Llangollen on a working farm. My partner and I took a last minute 3 night weekend break @ around £250 as a time away from our busy and stressful lives. We drove up the less than 2 mile narrow lane into the farm entrance and Into the large car park, just in front of the main farm house. The lets are on the left hand side going up the drive (pic)
The Granary is accessed up a flight of stairs, and is above a couple of other lets which all look very quaint and quite recently refurbished. There is a unit that is currently being completed so there was a bit of debris around the front of the steps.
We couldn't manage to log on to the wifi so went to the farmhouse to ask for the password. We were greeted by the lovely Father and daughter, Heather and Tony. Unfortunately we were told that the wifi had been out of order for a month! now this was quite a serious issue for us as we both need to be in contact with our employers over the weekends. I really do think we should have been informed on booking of this issue.
The accommodation appeared to be quite new and was clean and very tidy with reasonable quality and fittings.
My partner and I are both 6 foot plus and found the place very tiny indeed, how two adults and two children (there is one master and one bunk bedded bedroom) would manage I do not know. There is very minimal surface area to put bags , clothes, make up. we used the children's bedroom as a bag etc area. In the master bedroom the bed is pushed against a wall so one person has to climb over the other to get out. The room is small and desperately needs a chest of drawers instead of the wardrobe. The mirror is situated in the darkest area possible, behind the door and there is no vanity area.
The shower room is tiny. The toilet is incredibly close to the towel radiator and wall (pic) and makes it very awkward to perform bodily functions. The shower is again small and you cannot wash your lower body without head butting the enclosure or tap. There is also no area inside the shower to put your gel or shampoo, if you put it all on the floor you had to open the door to pick it up and use it. The shelf in the main area is on a slope so everything slides off dangerously close the toilet. Having said that the shower and water was constantly hot and powerful.
The kitchen is modern and fitted with appliances of a reasonable quality. The crockery , cutlery and utensils are minimal and not really enough for the people staying if you want to cook (potato peeler, salad spoons, colander, serving spoons and maybe a cafetiere all missing). There were some eggs and cake for us on arrival which is a lovely touch.
The lounge and TV area is l laid out as best as possible, but if there are 3 of you, then one will have to sit on the floor or in dining chairs. There was a selection of dvds provided but no clock anywhere which we found odd.
Overall we liked the location and sight seeing areas around locally are wonderful. However I think either the description of the let needs to be reworked or with a small amount of effort it could be improved a lot. There is a lot of space in a section outside the bedrooms/toilet/shower room that could be utilised to make the shower room bigger. David B 2016-09-11
The cottage is located in a nice quiet location. It's beautiful, cosy and clean. Owners are friendly and very thoughtful. Ms Su 2016-04-13
The Granary is a great little cottage and we received a very warm welcome from the owner. The area is great for walking, with walks from the doorstep. All in all we had a fabulous week and we will definitely book this property again. Mr Simpson 2015-10-04
A fantastic cottage which was beautifully decorated, warm, clean and had everything we could have needed. My husband, myself and my 2 young children had a brilliant time. The owners were so welcoming and friendly, we really didn't want to come home. A beautiful setting which was lovely and quiet. Mrs Healy 2015-08-10
