Great for an Autumn beach getaway
The owners contacted us with a cheery email, a few days before our holiday, to tell us how to find the cottage, which, as we arrived after dark, was most necessary. Also the key safe code, although it seems unlikely that Gardenstown is an unsafe place for your belongings. The cottage is compact and therefore easy to keep warm, but quite pleasingly eccentric: it has a window between toilet and bedroom (but there's no need to look! It has a curtain) : an L-shaped bathroom with a door to nowhere, and other windows and niches all over the place. The standard of decorations and decorative items was high. We felt the owners trust their customers not to steal the china and there is an honesty box for any breakages. In fact a generous spirit pervaded the place altogether. Plenty of maps and guides, and the area has far more than one week's entertainment. And there were redshanks and oystercatchers on the beach visible from the bedroom window. Perfect.

The cottage was in a lovely area, the locals and other holiday makers were very friendly. A good base to see some of the attractions. I would recommend this cottage.

Liked the cosy cottage and lovely wood burner. The location, in beautiful Gardenstown, is so close to the sea with sea views from the front door and bedroom. Liked the surrounding area and stunning coastline as well as the warmth and friendliness of the local people.
