Excellent!!! We have just returned from a break away at The Smithy with our 3 year old daughter and my parents. All of us had the perfect break away and the cottage exceeded our expectations. It was so cosy and comfortable, it had everything we could have needed in it and it was very clean and modern (especially the bathroom).
The grounds were perfect for our daughter, she loved the play area and the crazy golf. We couldn?t believe it when we looked in the cupboard in the cottage and found golf clubs/balls, buckets and spades, footballs etc.
The swimming pool was really warm which surprised us for the time of year we were there, the changing rooms were also warm and clean and the showers were hot.
While we were there we visited Tenby and Saundersfoot Beaches which were both really beautiful. We also went to Dinosaur park and Folly farm. These were fantastic places to go with a 3 year old. Everything was no more than a 20 minute drive from the cottage which made our stay even better as we had traveled from Yorkshire and didn?t want to spend the week in the car.
There was loads of other attractions near to the cottage that we didn?t get time to do. We would never have been bored!
We went to the garden centre across the road from Ivy Towers and had a lovely lunch there. We also went to the Sun Inn village pub and had a fantastic tea one evening. We would recommend both of these places to anyone staying in the smithy.
I cannot believe we found such a beautiful cottage in such a brilliant location. I only wish we lived closer so we could visit it annually without having to do a 6/7 hour journey.
Lovely cottage, great location - just needs a few tweaks! The Smithy was in a wonderful location and was very well equipped - literally every utensil/bowl we wondered about whilst preparing meals was in the kitchen somewhere! A welcome gift of wine and biscuits were very much appreciated. There was a shower in place of the advertised bath which was very nice indeed. The indoor pool proved popular with my granddaughter as did the play area and crazy golf. The views as you BBQ are stunning. The doors sat in the front garden outside the conservatory windows were not such a good view - we couldn't decide if they were from The Smithy or the cottage next door as they were in between both. However, we felt that they shouldn't have been left like that for guests to look out on - they were there when we arrived and were still there when we left! Even if they were from next door I would insist on them being moved if I owned The Smithy. With such a well-equipped cottage it was disappointing for it to let guests down in a couple of areas. Pillows were very poor - if we visited again it would be with our own pillows. The twin beds and single bed had very thin mattresses which were not conducive to a good nights sleep for adults. It may be OK for children as they are lighter but the description does not say they are beds for children so you would expect the mattresses to be comfortable enough for adults. The place mats in the dining area were very old and worn - why would you not renew such small items annually to uphold the quality of the cottage overall? Would we visit again? Yes, with, as previously stated, our own pillows coupled with foam mattress toppers! gmajayne 2017-06-04
In a lovely setting, and the property was well equipped and suitable for our party. It was very clean and well laid out to maximise the space. We were able to make good use of the swimming pool and tennis courts. We liked the area and how close it was to Tenby, Saundersfoot and Manorbier. Mrs Beecroft 2016-08-07
We loved it all! Ivy Tower village is a lovely place to stay particularly with small/young children. The pool and play areas are ideal. We will definitely consider staying at The Smithy again when we next visit Tenby. Mrs Walker 2016-05-29
The holiday village is well laid out and attractive. The house and swimming pool were very clean. It was one of the most well-stocked properties we have stayed in, and we have no complaints. We would heartily recommend the property and the area to our friends. Mrs Hughes 2015-06-21
