Disappointed We booked this apartment from Saturday to Saturday, but due to unforeseen circumstances had to shorten to Monday to Friday. We let the owner know in advance and she called back to confirm and give key details. On the Monday she called very early to say she was preparing the apartment that day (why not already done over the weekend?) and later texted to confirm our arrival time as 5pm as she'd had problems at her end. On arrival the twin room had not been set up. We need a 2 bedroom apartment as I have restless legs and snore for England. Two calls to the owner with no reply and later a call to her mum, and mum turned up at 10pm with some bedding. Too late, wife already distraught.
How was the rest?
Luxury bathroom actually quite small and basic, no dry shelves to put stuff on, toilet seat loose and lid digs into your back. Also, seal at bottom of shower door was dirty.
No hanging space in the quite small twin room.
Freezer box in fridge needs a good defrost - thick layer of frost on arrival - hard to actually get everything in. Fridge temperature too warm on arrival but managed to turn up the cooling control - but may have affected freezer box more than the rest of the fridge
Sofas very low - far too low for anyone in their mid 60s.
No good set of 4 of any glassware or crockery as seen in the pictures - only two wine glasses, mismatched desert/cereal bowls and plates with chips in.
There are actually 10 steps from the street to the front door, not 6. Unloading the car difficult as pavement very thin and quite a bit of traffic, so not enough room for you and a suitcase.
Most heating turned off on arrival - but easy to set up - good job it was June.
The owner never ever got back to us during our stay to apologise for poor prep or to see haw everything was going.
Good points? - Great location for visiting Chatsworth House and Flower Show and other local attractions - and a handy and fantastic minor injuries unit a mile down the road - needed after accident at a National Trust property!! Robert H 2019-06-09
Really good apartment and very helpful service We stayed in this 2 bedroom apartment for a few days with friends and it's obvious that the property has been recently updated with new fixtures, fittings etc. throughout.
The owner was extremely helpful with great communications and we can thoroughly recommend the property. David M 2018-09-21
Absolutely excellent, you must go. This apartment is excellently located and there is nothing you would want for. Immaculately clean, both inside and out. You must go there, only 2 of us but plenty of room for 4. Easy walking distance to Matlock and the wonderful Matlock Bath, which you must visit on a Sunday. Further afield even more delights and amazing walks, especially Buxton, Bakewell, Dovedale and he wonderful area around the Snake Pass and Ladybower Reservoir. Andy D 2018-06-17
