Very comfortable, cosy and relaxing We stayed here as a family of four, for a week in October and it was fantastic. I don't feel that the photos actually do the cottage, its facilities and surroundings full justice. The cottage itself is extremely cosy and warm (I didn't know what to expect from under floor heating but it was really warm) and had everything we needed in the kitchen with bed linen, towels and cosy blankets provided. There is a bath and a separate shower upstairs plus an additional toilet down stairs. Sky TV was a great bonus. There isn't a washing machine so families need to bear this in mind but there is a drying rack which we used for our swimming cosies. The entrance hall is nice and big with good storage for coats and shoes etc. The facilities were perfect, our boys made full use of the full sized table tennis table and pool table and the pool just next door, which we had all to ourselves (the shepherds hut which is also on the site was not booked out but this only sleeps two and is sheltered behind a hedge away from the cottage which keeps it private). It felt like such a treat and was so relaxing. It was easy to get to and find but feels remote when you are there and the living room doors open straight onto a wonderful view of fields and woodlands and there is very little light pollution so it was great to see the stars at night. The only interruptions were from the pheasants wandering past the windows in the morning. It is only about 5 miles to Uttoxeter which has Waitrose and Tesco (we got a Tesco delivery on the first night which saved a lot of hassle) and its well located for a lot of activities, we went to Jodrell Bank, Twycross Zoo and Splash World at Alton Towers, but there is also Sudbury Hall (National Trust), Monkey Forest, and Adventure Farm and Brewery tours at Burton on Trent, all close by. The cottage owners were really friendly and welcoming and have created a lovely holiday retreat. Nancy H 2017-11-05

What a beautiful and peaceful cottage. The swimming pool is amazing would highly recommend. A great base for visiting the peak district. Mrs Carne 2016-08-03
I have fallen in love with this cottage and it's location. The tranquil sounds of farm land and open meadows were very relaxing. The games room and pool kept us entertained on the rainy days as well as underfloor heating when it got chilly. We had the pool to ourselves all weekend which was really nice and everything was immaculate. The host was very accommodating and I would recommend this to a family looking for a village break AND I will definitely return. Mrs Batchelor-Watkins 2016-05-04
The swimming pool was excellent and the games room good for a bit of gentle exercise.
The location of the property is perfect for peace and quiet and the lovely scenery.
All told, a very relaxing place to stay. The owners were friendly and welcoming. Mrs Angrave 2016-03-19
