This lovely house is set in an elevated position, just 1.5 miles from Usk and can sleep six people in four bedrooms.

Ty Mawr Hill is a lovely house, set in an elevated position, just 1.5 miles from Usk and can sleep six people. There is a double bedroom, a twin bedroom, two single bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen, a pantry, a utility room, a dining room and a sitting room with an open fire. Outside there is off road parking for two cars and enclosed gardens with a front lawned garden with patio and furniture plus a raised lawned area. Ty Mawr Hill is a wonderful holiday base.

Set near the top of a hill Ty Mawr is the perfect secluded getaway. A well appointed, clean and comfortable home with everything you?d require and more. 4 comfortable bedrooms and an extra large bathroom upstairs. Downstairs an ample kitchen, lounge and dining room, toilet, huge laundry and separate boot room with state of the art heating equipment. The views from every window are breathtaking. Sheep, cows, squirrels and bunnies can be spotted outside in the surrounds. Fresh apples and abundant blackberries in September. Ann and Nigel were both lovely and helpful in setting us up. Usk is a pleasant little village with a co op shop for supplies. Great central location for visiting South Wales. If ever there was a home I?d like to live in other than mine own it would be Ty Mawr Hill. My heart belongs there

Stunning views, secluded & cosy
A really lovely property - quiet, secluded, comfortable and well equipped. Within walking distance of Usk which has plenty of pubs and places to eat. Amazing victoria sponge cake waiting for us when we arrived too!

Amazing place, especially for children.
We have just arrived home form an amazing weekend at this property. Our sat nav got us a little lost but the directions included in the booking were spot on. We drove through the first gate to the house to be met by the most idyllic farm drive and the stunning house sat on top of the hill just like a child's drawing might depict. My children were in awe at the single, steep farm track that covers two fields and three gates that need opening and shutting, they also made friends with the live stock and wanted to be wandering the drive the whole weekend. We were met by the owner who was friendly, showed us around and left us some amazing home made biscuits. The house was clean, comfortable and cosy once we had worked out the heating controls. We had two adults, a teenager, three children and an infant. We were comfortable in the spacious bedrooms, the beds were comfy, plenty of wardrobe space and enough room in the master for a travel cot. The kitchen facilities had everything we needed, a very welcome boot room and handy washer and dryer. Even though the house was heated well the open fire was very appealing in December after a day outside, you can buy everything for it at the garden centre opposite the property once you have run out of the provided stock. The drive is large enough for a few cars and although daunting the track up to the house is easy enough in the dark. Our children adored the location, they were fully occupied by the exploration the farmland lends itself to, especially the hollow trees and stream. The views were idyllic and although the property is secluded on a hill you are minutes walk away from the garden and craft centre with a cafe, food and gifts for sale and a little park/animal petting area. An adequate Chinese take away and Co-op convenience store is in Usk town centre 5 mins drive away and we felt located in a good base to explore South Wales. Being on a hill and sharing water supply with live stock meant that the water pressure was low but this was a small and understandable price to pay for residing here. Our only gripe is we didn't book for longer and I think my children are disappointed in our house now!

We found the cottage very charming. The view was stunning and the owner was so welcoming.

The remoteness of this property is its truest charm. This is the perfect place to recharge, reconnect and reignite both relationships and energy levels with its stunning views, lovely log fire and calm traditional theme throughout. I almost don't want to recommend it so highly because I want it to always be available for when I come back! But that would be an injustice to this wonderful property and lovely owners.
