Fabulous, comfortable cottage in a lovely village on County Durham
Fabulous, well presented, well equipped, comfortable cottage in a lovely village, highly recommend, Pam greeted us with a warm welcome, chocolates and processco was a lovely touch too! This cottage is superb, huge TV, sky movies and sports, we enjoyed watching the Olympics and family movies, huge comfy couches and beds, lovely seating area and a bbq, which we used twice. We fell in love with Minty (family cat), very friendly and she even brought us a couple of presents I wanted to take her home. Highlights, local chippy is excellent, handy small shop in village and handy spar a short walk/drive away, great couple of cafes in the village too, the Italian Buon Appetitto is a must, sadly 2 out of the 3 village pubs were closed but the black lion is well worth a visit or two. There are excellent walks from easy to moderate levels, we did the Turnstal reservoir and monuments walks, enjoyed trips to , bishop's Auckland, Durham and Newcastle for a bit of retail therapy. The house is a perfect home from home, thank you for having us.

Fantastic accommodation & beautiful setting!
This was our first visit to the surrounding area of Wolsingham and Bridge House was the perfect place to stay. The accommodation was spotless and the host Pamela was absolutely brilliant! Wolsingham is a busy town, with 2 pubs, the Black Lion was our local and the locals made us feel very welcome. Fine Italian food at Bueno Appetito and great Sunday lunch at the Duke of York at Fir Tree. Great fish and chips at Cravens and a good Chinese too as well as two cafes, No. 10 gives exceptional lunches after a good walk! We went on a few good walks around the village, Black Banks and Miles of Stiles, which allowed us to enjoy the countryside in it's beauty. We also visited Whitley Bay, Durham, Barnard Castle, Hexham and Corbridge. We will be back to visit Pamela, Badger and the two cats sometime in the future. It is well worth a visit and stay. Thank you Pamela for your hospitality and allowing us to stay in your beautiful cottage.
