Comfortable family getaway
Well appointed, clean and tidy. Everything we needed was there except for a couple of serving dishes and hairdryer . The owner was helpful and informative when we phoned for the key code and when we asked him a question on arrival. He said if we had any issues at all to let him know. Pleased to say we didn?t.

What you see is not what you get.
Called for help on arrival as heating not working. House was as cold as charity as battery thermostat was flashing ZERO & all radiators had been turned off. Took over 3 hrs for heating to kick in & over 30 hours for owner to contact us - only advice was refer to manual. Starter pack of logs for burner were nowhere to be seen, which didn't help. There is no Wi-Fi at this property, only 3 of the 4 bedrooms can be used as 4th bedroom is being used for storage [photo 7 refers]. Third bathroom on lower floor has been denied access due to a bookcase barricade. Mixture of seating in sitting room, sofa in photo 2 is no longer there. Property caters for 6 people but only one flimsy hanging rail in bedroom 3, with less than a dozen plastic hangers. Washing machine but no washing line. 8 basic drinking mugs; 5 of which were cheap with advertising logos. Cups & saucers would be better. 8 ceiling lights but only 3 lampshades. No side tables in sitting room to place mugs/newspapers. Kitchen basics like tin opener, potato peeler & chopping boards would be useful. If property & contents had not been so basic we would have given a better score and review.

Very helpful owner when light bulb went and fused the lights
Good central location for everything in the area, comfortable beds and sofas, sufficient towels. Well equipped with most things but missing the basics such as tin opener. egg cups, washing up liquid (for those things which don't fit the dishwasher), oven gloves. If these things had been there it would have scored higher. On the first night a bulb went in the kitchen and fused the kitchen and stair lights, the very helpful owner came and sorted it out on Sunday morning.
