nice area and facility for a family short break, but beware of the hygiene issue
Good area with top view across the golf park. Good facilities in the property and many toys to keep kids active. however, unfortunately, the house has serious hygiene issues. The upstairs windows in the open lounge were full of birds droppings. one of the key features claimed for the house is 'star gazing' while keeping warm in the room through the glass. but the bird dropping really didn't help. The bed linens had stains and marks. Both bed linens and towels were having an unpleasant smell, seemed not cleaned properly. the hot tub is warm. however you can see clearly grease in the bubbles and accumulated on the edge of the tubs. it made you not want to stay. I suspect if it is bothered to be cleaned for a long while. When the first day in, the house is completely freezing. I phoned the owner, Karen, she claimed it was the cleaner switch the heating off completely and this isn't a hotel (which implies that the guest cannot expect a warm holiday property at all? bizarre). very disappointing, the house has a thermal control system, but completely shut and left the house barely under 10 degrees in the winter. and because of the underfloor heating, it took ages to heat up the house. We had to wear jackets in the house on the first day; even at night. about the bird droppings on the window; the owner cannot care less. She said she has no control over the random birds' behavior. fair enough, but during our stay, it seemed no further bird droppings. So it must be there for a while and no one bothered to clean it.
